Payroll Manager
Description
- Payroll Administration: Oversee the preparation, distribution, and reporting of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- System Management: Act as the primary administrator for our payroll platforms, maintaining data integrity and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate payroll workflows to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
- Compliance & Audit: Lead internal and external payroll audits; ensure all filings (940s, 941s, W-2s) are accurate and submitted on schedule.
- Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports for the Finance and HR leadership teams, including labor costs, tax breakdowns, and accruals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll management.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with ADP
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and FLSA regulations. Working knowledge of benefits including 401k, insurance, paid leave, and other voluntary deductions.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) for data reconciliation.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex payroll and tax concepts to employees at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
- Experience with multiple payrolls systems - ADP and Workday
- Experience with payroll system integrations and acquisitions
- Experience managing payroll for multi-state or international operations.
- Experience with system implementations or migrations between ADP and Workday.
